Örebro University has received 11 MSEK from the KK foundation, for research in the field of inflammasomes. The aim is to try to explain why the immune system reacts differently in different people.
Örebro University has four companies as partners in this project; among others Techtum Lab and Sandvik. The role of Techtum in the project is partly as technical consultants but also as a supplier of equipment.
"Örebro searched excellence in areas such as gene expression analysis, sample extraction, automation and biobanking. We consider ourselves good at this but are still flattered by that the little Techtum was chosen; not only as a supplier of solutions but also as technical consultants. We see that this will strengthen our partnerships with the academic world. ", Techtum CEO Håkan Evefors says in a statement.
"I believe that Örebro is absolutely right in this venture; first, the emphasis is on interdisciplinary cooperation; secondly they actively include the industry in projects that benefit large sections of society. This way they will achieve results faster and reach out better with their results.", CEO Mattias Molin adds.
